Within my practice, I am influenced by the ideas surrounding bodily experiences of vulnerability, the balance of comfort and discomfort within an energetically protective environment, and coping with trauma through the cathartic process of art making. My fascination with my personal interconnectedness in the natural world has become a dominant component alongside the initial elements that are driving my work forwards. What all started as an exploration of the contorted figure in an innocent search for surrealism within my work has evolved into a solitary performance of my physicality in conjunction with a natural environment or a performance of the medium mimicking the function of my body within a space. Whether my work is communicated through analog or digital photography, metal or ceramics, my practice interconnects with my understanding, uneasiness and adoration of my worldly existence.
